Cheyenne Sa
Game Master
Cheyenne Sa got her undergrad degree in psychology at the university of Waterloo. She pursued more schooling in Toronto at George Brown college and received a diploma in the Assaulted Women's and Children's Counselor/Advocate program. There she gained a feminist, anti-racist analysis of the political and counselling issues related to gender-based violence experienced primarily by self-identified women, children, trans and non-binary survivors. She was trained to be an agent for change in the work of community education, political action and law reform and prepared to provide anti-oppressive counselling for survivors who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based violence. She also gained training in developing, delivering and facilitating groups and programing. With the help of one of her professors she really started to research and explore the potential benefits of using tabletop roleplaying games as ways to explore identity and to practice skill-building in a safe environment.
She worked at the a women's shelter facilitating in-person programs, answering crisis calls, and dealing with in-person crisis situations as a frontline worker. She had her practicum at a Toronto community health centre as a community ambassador and then later was hired on as a staff member. There she did school outreach and developed and facilitated programing for 2SLBTQIA+ youth. While there she spearheaded the development of a new program in which she facilitated the play of tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons and Monster of the Week, both in person and virtually.
